I. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for transporting clients, as assigned from a designated pick-up site to a

designated host setting and light maintenance of fleet inventory.

II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 Transport clients as necessary in an agency vehicle
 Assist with boarding and departure as necessary for clients
 Informs team members of any significant changes to client’s behaviors
 Keep required vehicle logs; prepares and writes reports.
 Provides light operator maintenance, taking the vehicle for gas and oil changes,
recording usage, expenses, etc.
 Completes daily vehicle safety checks and inspections.
 Operate within the guidelines of the Employee Handbook, program’s Operation Manual
and agency policies and procedures.
 Other duties as assigned.

III. BASIC COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience:
 High school diploma or equivalent.
 Commercial driving experience required.

Skills and Abilities Needed:
 Must be congenial, patient and reliable with the ability to relate to staff and clients and
gain their respect and confidence.
 Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies
and the public.
 Attend agency trainings and maintain necessary certifications as determined by the
agency.
 Maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, automobile liability insurance coverage and
an excellent driving record that allows the operation of an agency vehicle to transport
clients as needed.
