I. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for transporting clients, as assigned from a designated pick-up site to a
designated host setting and light maintenance of fleet inventory.
II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Transport clients as necessary in an agency vehicle Assist with boarding and departure as necessary for clients
Informs team members of any significant changes to client’s behaviors
Keep required vehicle logs; prepares and writes reports.
Provides light operator maintenance, taking the vehicle for gas and oil changes,
recording usage, expenses, etc.
Completes daily vehicle safety checks and inspections.
Operate within the guidelines of the Employee Handbook, program’s Operation Manual
and agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
III. BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Commercial driving experience required.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
Must be congenial, patient and reliable with the ability to relate to staff and clients and
gain their respect and confidence.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies
and the public.
Attend agency trainings and maintain necessary certifications as determined by the
agency.
Maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, automobile liability insurance coverage and
an excellent driving record that allows the operation of an agency vehicle to transport
clients as needed.
