Manager/Supervisor
As part of the treatment team, the Clinical Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the clinical residential staff; oversees the team to ensure it meets agency expectations and goals; ensures the team maintains compliance with agency and State of Michigan, contractor requirements; assesses clinical needs, develops goals and ensures that the team has a cooperative working relationship with other members of the overall treatment team; supervises assigned staff and assists them in their job duties.
  • The Clinical Supervisor will provide supervision to case managers and clinicians, individually and/or in team meetings, at a level determined by the need of individual members of the clinical team. The supervisor will assess the skills of all supervisees, keep fully informed of their activities, and assist the director with annual performance appraisals of the team.
  • Manage the team to ensure it operates within the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services, the State of Michigan, the agency, and COA.
  • Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by the program director and senior leadership; participate in developing department goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain clinical systems, records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement of clinical services.
  • Collaborate with those assigned for supervision to develop and implement increased levels of professional skill.
  • Utilize multiple resources for completion of assigned tasks such as: case consultations, co-counseling consultation with other staff, readings, training seminars and workshops. Personally provide in-service training as deemed appropriate.
Education and Experience:        
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Two (2) years of direct clinical experience.
  • Possession of a certified full license for the State of Michigan.
