Housing Case Manager
The Housing Case Manager provide coordination and case management for young men and women who are or have experienced homelessness, requiring supportive housing and other living resources. A housing case manager interacts with both individuals and families who have housing issues and connects them with emergency shelters. The case manager must assist homeless adults and at-risk youths in finding safe and affordable accommodation. They provide emotional support to clients. Compassion and empathy are a requirement of this position.
- Develop strategies for sustaining and growing effective programs.
- Build high-quality relationships with youth participants to understand the personal experiences of children and youth impacted by homelessness.
- Provide strategic direction relating to ongoing program development, quality improvement, and evaluation efforts.
- Complete developmentally appropriate assessment activities with youth as determined by program and youth’s needs.
Education and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
- Experience working with homeless or vulnerable populations.
- Experience working in the housing field.
- Proven ability to maintain high productivity while functioning in a flexible environment.
- Proven ability to apply crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Proven ability to apply theories of the Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed approaches.
