Senior Manager/Supervisor

The Director of Independent Living Plus (ILP) will serve as an important member of the agency’s leadership team working closely to implement the strategic vision of the agency. The Director of ILP will oversee the programs and services related to the MCHS ILP Programs as well as working to develop strong community relationships to serve more children and families within these programs.  

  • Work with the ILP Supervisors and program treatment teams to implement and oversee the Trauma-Informed Milieu Treatment within each program to ensure treatment modalities are integrated into the milieu and are in line with the agency’s treatment philosophy, standards of care and the treatment goals for individual residents, families and groups.  

  • Work with the Program Supervisors and various other Program Directors and Department Heads to oversee the interface among the various services/departments and the treatment teams in all ILP programs to meet clients emotional, physical, and basic needs within the guidelines of the highest standard of care.  

  • Manage the operations of the programs and enforce best practice models to ensure that the programs are functioning within the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan, Federal regulations, DHHS, MCHS and COA. 

  • Establish and maintain department systems, records, grants and reports; recommend, develop, and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement of department services.  

  • Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet the program goals and objectives set by the Chief Program Officer. 

Education and Experiences

  • A Master’s Degree in human behavioral science such as Social Work (MSW) or related discipline where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavior sciences.  

  • Five (5) years’ experience as a supervisor in a residential, transitional housing, or inpatient setting working with serious emotional disorder (SED) at-risk youth between the ages of 7-17.  

  • Must meet the State’s Moral Character standard.   

  • Experience with a mental health or behavioral health agency.
